SG-04 Stag Occasional Table

SG-04 Stag Occasional Table

Designed by Edouard Sankowski.

The Stag Occasional finds its roots in observing trees and nature heel, incorporate, envelope and absorb surroundings, appropriating terrain, stones, and fences in the process. Here the slab and the marble legs are sculpted and formed to meld into a single flowing shape, as if one.

Edouard Sankowski's collections are elaborated with a strong emphasis on the notion of making use of materials that would usually and otherwise be considered waste and discarded.

In keeping with this process the odd-shaped sculpted stone in the collection, which are central to the designs, is composed of roughs recovered from the field.

He individually selects these roughs (marble or granite blocks and slabs) from French quarries and trusted yards that have been active for over 1000 years. Versailles and the Sacré-Cœur are among esteemed structures that were built thanks to these "Royal Quarries".

This overall process produces a result that will vary from piece to piece in shape, color and weight, and items will differ slightly from the image.

Method individually handmade in France by Krzywda.

Of Marble and Brass or Steel.

Each corner and Leg base is sculpted by hand and varies from piece to piece in shape, color and weight. Each top is contoured according to its base.
