CL-00 Cane Lamp
Designed by Edouard Sankowski.
Edouard Sankowski's collections are elaborated with a strong emphasis on the notion of making use of materials that would usually and otherwise be considered waste and discarded.
In keeping with this process the odd-shaped sculpted stone in the collection, which are central to the designs, is composed of roughs recovered from the field.
An arched element combines with an odd-shape stone to make the piece, joining two of Edouard's processes: the arch line and the exploration of the fullest use of materials.
He individually selects these roughs (marble or granite blocks and slabs) from French quarries and trusted yards that have been active for over 1000 years. Versailles and the Sacré-Cœur are among esteemed structures that were built thanks to these "Royal Quarries".
This overall process produces a result that will vary from piece to piece in shape, color and weight, and items will differ slightly from the image.
